Question: I am working to develop the quality of life in the congregation I serve. My greatest concern is the deadness in the congregation. Some people give little evidence of a relationship with the Lord. This deadness hampers those who are alive and causes friction in the church. What do I do beyond praying for them to be transformed?
Pray, yes. Wait, no. Go with those who are alive. Keep them energized, focused on Christ and excited about the reaching others with the Gospel.
Additional advice: Bring people face to face with spiritual needs inside and outside the church. Explain often what you believe God wants done in and through your congregation. Continually start spiritual conversations with unsaved people. Urge your people to do the same. Emphasize fellowship. Be patient.
